The CAPPED Legacy Society provides the foundation for CAPPED's stability and growth.
Legacy Society brochures were designed by Mr. Don Root, Registered Agent for the IRS, one of CAPPED's greatest early friends. In addition to helping us word each of these legacy society brochures, Mr. Root helped us set up our bookkeeping system through QuickBooks and acted as our auditor in our early years. Why, Mr. Root was even there at my side when we were audited by the IRS. We shared a special, knowing smile when our IRS Auditor told us he could not find one thing we were not doing well.
Then, I picked the IRS Auditors brain to find out what things we could and could not do within the scope of our non-profit status. He really liked the idea of starting the Center for Integrative Health Care and encouraged me to get started. He also told us that it was refreshihng to see an organization that was really doing what it was chartered to do. It seems most of his audits find major problems when it comes to non-profit organizations. We were very proud that we had done it right.
